Experience one of Carinthia’s most stunning motorcycle tours starting right at Hotel Kirchenwirt:
Curves, culture, and alpine panoramas on approx. 270 km with around 3,600 meters of elevation gain!

Tour Itinerary:
Start in Bad Kleinkirchheim, ride the legendary Nockalm Road with its 52 hairpin bends into the artists’ town of Gmünd – home of the Porsche Automobile Museum. Continue through the Maltatal Valley on the spectacular Maltatal High Alpine Road to the imposing Kölnbrein Dam – at 200 m, the tallest dam in Europe. Return via Lake Millstätter See back to the Kirchenwirt.

Bad Kleinkirchheim – Gurk – Hochosterwitz – Diex – Flattnitz – Turracher Höhe

This diverse tour takes you through the heart of Carinthia – combining cultural highlights, scenic roads, and high-altitude routes with breathtaking views.

Tour Itinerary:
Start in Bad Kleinkirchheim, ride through Feldkirchen into the Gurk Valley, past Zammelsberg and Weitensfeld to Gurk – home to the impressive Gurk Cathedral, one of Carinthia’s most important pilgrimage sites.
The route continues to St. Veit an der Glan, passing the magnificent Hochosterwitz Castle, one of the most imposing fortresses in Europe.
Via Brückl and Mittertrixen, you reach Haimburg, then head up to sunny Diex (1,159 m) with its fantastic views. After descending, the tour returns to Brückl and heads into the Görtschitz Valley toward Althofen.
At Böckstein Castle, the road branches off again into the Gurk Valley. In Straßburg, turn into the wild and romantic Metnitz Valley, finally reaching Flattnitz, a quiet alpine pass.
Continue into the Styrian Mur Valley, upstream for about 6 km from Stadl an der Mur to Predlitz – from there, enjoy the partly steep but stunning ascent to Turracher Höhe (1,783 m).
Return to Bad Kleinkirchheim from there.
